The continuous sand filter efficient effluent cleaning

The continuous sand filter is based on the counter-flow principle. The raw water to be treated passes through the water inlet pipe and enters the sand filter through the water distributor located at the bottom of the filter. The water flow counterflows through the filter bed from bottom to top, and the filtered filtrate collects at the top of the filter and flows out through the overflow port.

The filter material that intercepts dirt at the bottom of the sand filter is lifted to the sand washer on the top of the filter through an air lift pump. The pollutants are separated from the filter material through turbulence. The impurities are discharged through the flush water outlet, and the clean sand returns by its own weight. The sand bed thus achieves continuous filtration. Sand washing wastewater is discharged through a special pipe.

    Water filtration system

    Raw wastewater enters the sand bed from the water distributor through the water inlet pipe. The water is purified as it passes upward through the sand bed. After filtering, the clean water is discharged from the water outlet and enters the clean pool.

    Sand circulation system

    While the water flows upward, the sand bed continuously moves downward. Driven by compressed air, the dirty sand is lifted from the bottom of the sand bed through the sand lifting pipe to the sand washer and cleaned. of sand falls back to the top of the sand bed.

    Compressed air system

    Pass the air into the storage tank through the air compressor, and then pass it into the bottom of the sand lifting pipe. The mixture of dirty sand and water is pushed upward through the sand lifting pipe. Strong friction will push the dirty suspended solids upward. separated from the sand. Released at the top of the riser pipe, the dirty water is discharged.

    Sand washer

    At the top of the sand lifting pipe, the sand falls through the annular space of the sand washer and is cleaned by filtered water in the opposite direction to the falling direction of the sand. The flow of filtered water is driven by the liquid level difference between filtered clean water and sand washing water.

    Monitoring and control system

    The main control points are compressed air pressure, water inlet volume, sand circulation volume, etc. By equipping an online monitoring system, stable process operation goals can be achieved.
